Youth Advocacy in Action: Building the Next Generation of Changemakers

From 23–25 January 2023, Kundwa Health joined fellow young leaders in a Youth Advocacy Training organized by CHB Rwanda and Care and Help, with the support of UNICEF Rwanda. The training brought together passionate youth advocates from across the country, all driven by a common goal: to create meaningful change in their communities through advocacy.

Advocacy is at the heart of sustainable transformation. When young people are equipped with the right knowledge and tools, they become powerful voices in shaping policies, challenging harmful practices, and championing inclusive health and development. This training emphasized practical strategies for influencing decision-makers, mobilizing communities, and ensuring that youth perspectives are integrated into local and national planning.

Kundwa Health participated to strengthen our own advocacy around sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and digital health solutions. We recognize that change is not only about delivering services but also about amplifying the voices of those most affected young people themselves.

One participant expressed: “This training has shown me that my voice matters. With the right skills, I can bring real change to my community.”

At Kundwa Health, we remain committed to building a movement of empowered youth advocates who will lead the fight for equity, health, and dignity. By standing together, learning from one another, and engaging with key stakeholders, young people are proving that they are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are leaders today.
