Celebrating Youth Advocacy: Graduation of Young Changemakers in Rwanda

On 6 May 2023, Kundwa Health proudly joined the graduation ceremony of the Youth Advocates Program (YAG) held under the theme: “Influencing meaningful change through youth-led advocacy.” The event, organized by UNICEF Rwanda in partnership with CHB Rwanda and Care and Help Rwanda, marked a milestone in empowering young people to become strong voices for health, rights, and community development.

The ceremony brought together passionate youth advocates from across Rwanda who had completed intensive training in leadership, policy engagement, and advocacy skills. Their journey represents more than just capacity-building,it is about transforming youth into changemakers capable of influencing decisions that affect their lives and communities.

Kundwa Health was honored to participate, not only in celebrating these young leaders but also by showcasing our innovative health promotion interventions in the exhibition space. From digital tools like FunHealth to grassroots initiatives in SRH, mental health, and menstrual health management, our team demonstrated how youth-led solutions can directly impact the well-being of communities.

The atmosphere was filled with hope and determination. As one graduate said: “This is not the end of our journey; it is the beginning of our responsibility to speak, act, and inspire change.”

At Kundwa Health, we stand firm in our belief that advocacy is not reserved for a few—it is a collective force. By equipping young people with skills and platforms, we are shaping a Rwanda where every youth voice counts in building healthier, more inclusive communities.
