FunHealth in Huye: Gamifying Health and Life Skills for Youth Empowerment

On 4-6 April 2024, Kundwa Health brought the FunHealth App to youth in Huye District, engaging them in a new way of learning about health and life skills. FunHealth is our innovative digital platform that combines gamification and youth-centred design to make health education both fun and practical.

During the session, young people explored interactive games and learning modules covering sexual and reproductive health (SRH), mental health, and basic life skills. The activities created an open and safe space where participants could ask questions, share experiences, and gain reliable knowledge that directly impacts their daily lives.

The goal of FunHealth is simple yet powerful: to bridge gaps in access to trustworthy health information and services while empowering young people to take charge of their well-being. By integrating features like quizzes, interactive stories, and a service locator, the app ensures that health information is not only accessible but also engaging.

Our outreach in Huye is part of a broader journey to scale FunHealth across Rwanda, ensuring that no young person is left behind in the digital health revolution. Each session brings us closer to a future where technology, youth voices, and health promotion come together to create stronger, healthier communities.
